The owner of All Guest house, Hotdigr where Peter died and also an eyewitness said :

He was found in his bed lying on his back, with no pulse or respiration. When his mate " sat" him up, a large amount of vomit flew out of his throat. An ambulance was called from C.T clinic and he was carried out of his room to the front of the guesthouse and put in the recovery position ( as per the photo) to wait for the ambulance.

When they came they pronounced him dead. I saw and talked to him around 1 hr before this and he and his mate were EXTREMELY wasted. I am not 100% sure, but I don't think drugs were involved. His mate said that they had drunk around 40 beers in 12 hours. He quite obviously choked to death on his own vomit.

He seemed like a nice young bloke, polite and well mannered whenever I talked to him. R.I.P to Pete and condolences to his friends and family.

BTW, I was there and saw the whole thing. NO speculation, just the facts as I saw them.

Peter Riley family have been informed about his death in Cambodia. A Uk Foreign office spokesman said that they were providing "consular services" for the family.
