I’m very thankful to the Michigan audience for joining me in supporting this cause. Ongoing challenges remain years later for Flint residents, and it’s important that we don’t forget our brothers and sisters affected by this disaster. As people, especially as Americans, we need to stand together to make sure something like this never happens in any community ever again.

The crisis started in 2014 after the city switched its water supply from the Detroit river to Flint in a measure to save cost. Residents' water was later found to be discoloured and was later found to have contained high level of bacteria, disinfectant and lead.

The switch caused a release of of Legionnaires’ disease which affected around 100 people, while 12 were reported dead from the crisis.

Other celebrities that have donated Flint includes Eminem, Puff Daddy, Mark Wahlberg and Cher.
