German Hostage maybe executed anytime soon in Philippines

Dr Viktor Okonek, a 71 years old medical doctor and German held hostage maybe killed anytime from now. The man that who was captured by an Islamic sect, Abu Sayaff while on sailing from  Pahlawan island in southern Philippines to Sabah. He had been in the captivity since April 25.

                             

The group that had threatened to behead the hostage last Friday decided to postpone the execution if the government will pay a ransom of 250 million pesos ($5,565,649).

At a radio live interview with Dr Viktor and the sect spokesman, Abu Rami. Below are some of Dr Viktor Okonek words :

"I'm a medical doctor in Philippines for holiday. But I was kidnapped in Palawan,"

"My message to my family is ... my wife ... who supported me very much and made possible for me to study and practice medicine and gave me three wonderful children and I would like to thank her and I look forward to see her in heaven,"

Aside from the ransom, the group also demanded the Philippines government support with US air strike on the Islamic state (ISIS).

Abu Rami said that the group is trying not to kill the hostage, but that will be depending on the reaction of the Philippine government and the arm forces . He said that the hostage will be killed on any attempt of the government to rescue the hostage.

He also said if the Military that surrounds the Abu Sayaff camp is not withdrawn soon, they will start countering them and there is a possibility it will lead to the death of the hostage
