Jimi Agbaje defeats Musiliu Obanikoro In The PDP Primaries

Lagos, Nigeria : The People democratic party(PDP) gubernatorial primaries was held at the Yard 58, Oregun Venue, Lagos State around 5:00PM local time. The gubernatorial primaries had different PDP aspirants that includes :

Musiliu Obanikoro, Jimi Agbaje, Babatunde Gbadamosi, Dr (Mrs) Modupe Chukwuneke, Adedeji Doherty and Ambassador Tokunbo Kamson. The election was tagged free and fair.

After the accreditation and votes by the voters, the winner of the election and the governorship aspirant is Jimi Agbaje. Jimi Agbaje was announced the winner after winning with a vote of 432 and Senator Musiliu Obanikoro had 343 of all 836 votes that was cast in the election. 

Jimi Agbaje had been a governorship aspirant in the year 2007, but he lost under the Democratics people alliance(DPA). He was said to have defected to PDP to contest for governorship. It was also said the young man had run to Bode George to guide him on his right path as he joins the party. A day before the election, the PDP council of elders in Lagos state had said that the likes of Senator Musiliu Obanikoro is not worthy to be elected as the governorship candidate in Lagos. The leader of the council, Chief Olabode George and Senator Ogunlewe kicked against Musiliu Obanikoro winning the election. George said

We will never return to Babylon. Koro is not electible.

Senator Musiliu Obanikoro a regular face of the gubernatorial aspirant of PDP and also the recent defence minister had lost elections to the AD, now APC leader, Bola Ahmed Tinubu when he(Tinubu ) was vying to get elected for second term. He also ran against the current Lagos state governor, Alhaji Babtunde Raji Fashola in 2007 and lost again. 

At the moment, he had lost his election again at the gubernatorial primaries and will not be able to represent the party.
