UK Would Withhold Information Sharing With The CIA If It Adopts Torture Techniques

Donald Trump has said during his campaign trail that his administration would approve waterboarding to extract information from terrorist suspects. While a lot of intelligence officers have spoken against using the technique, Trump has once again said he would want the agencies to start the new technique, while in office.

The UK Prime Minister, Theresa May has said that the UK could stop working with the Trump CIA, if the agency adopts torture techniques such as waterboarding.

Theresa May said that the UK stance on the issue of torture is clear, and has not changed over time, She said;

We condemn torture and my view on that won't change – whether I'm talking to you or talking to the President. The real question you should be asking is what do we think about torture? What we think about torture is we condemn it. We do not believe in torture. That position has been clear for some time and that position is not going to change.

Trump has said many times that he would bring back waterboarding, and a “hell of a lot worse”.
