The police in Saudi Arabia are investigating a video that went viral of 2 men getting married, and their friend throw confetti while the 2 men walk down the aisle.

Same sex activities are restricted in Saudi Arabia, and punishment for same-sex activities can range from lashing to death penalty sentence.

The wedding took place at a region of Aradiyat, which is very close to Mecca. The police later investigated the site of the ceremony, and arrested those involved.

Though the new Saudi crown prince Mohammed bin Salman said that he is looking to embark on a reformist campaign, and also different modernization project for 2030, but it is not clear if the LGBT community will benefit from the reforms of the new young prince.

Germany Parliament has said "Ja" to same-sex marriage in a snap vote. The bill passed 393 to 226, with the German vice-chancellor, Angela Merkel voting against the bill, however, more than 70 conservative bloc members of Merkel vote in favour of the bill.

   Volker Beck of the Green party, who is also an open gay person celebrated the new bill on his lasy day in parliament.

Explaining while she voted No on the bill, Angela Merkel said that she understood marriage to be an institution between a man and a woman, however, she said she believes the new bill will help promote "more social peace."

Merkel also said that she has come to the conclusion that same-sex couple should be able to adopt children, which is something the new bill legalizes.

Volker Beck of the Green party, who also had been a strong voice in approving same-sex marriage called the vote "a success for democracy."

The recent campaign against homosexual in Chechnya has led authorities to detain 100 gay men, and also 3 men killed in the anti-gay campaign.

The recent crackdown on homosexuals had led police in arresting local television authorities and religious figures who are gays. The report has since been denied by Alvi Karimov, Chechnya’s leader, Ramzan Kadyrov spokesperson.

Alvi while speaking to  Interfax news agency,claims the recent information is "absolute lies and disinformation" and claims that “You cannot detain and persecute people who simply do not exist in the republic,” Alvi said that there are no gay people in Chechnya. He added;

If there were such people in Chechnya, the law-enforcement organs wouldn’t need to have anything to do with them because their relatives would send them somewhere from which there is no returning.

Russia project director for the International Crisis Group, Ekaterina Sokirianskaia while speaking to the Guardian said that the report is true, and she has received information about the issue from different sources in the past 10 days. She said that authorities have denied the incident, and instead information has been coming in from second hand or third hand sources, she said;

I have heard about it happening in Grozny [the Chechen capital], outside Grozny, and among people of very different ages and professions. It’s next to impossible to get information from the victims or their families, but the number of signals I’m receiving from different people makes it hard not to believe detentions and violence are indeed happening.

The Chechnya community is a strictly conservative region, so unlike other cases where gay families or activist put pressure on government when gays go missing, those suspected to be homosexual are disowned by their own families. If the community get to know there is a gay member in a family, other member of that family will find it extremely difficult to get married due to "shame."

A St Petersburg LGBT centre has set up an anonymous hotline for gay people living in Chechnya to help them evacuate from the Republic.

A couple in Morehead, David Moore and his partner, David Ermold have gone back to request for their marriage license, after they were denied on the first attemptThe Kentucky clerk's officer,Kim Davis,  is defying the supreme court ruling, with an argument based on religious freedom.

The couples have been trying to get their marriage license after the supreme court ruling allowing same-sex marriage, and after visiting the Rowan country,  county clerk, Kim Davis, turned down the request of issuing marriage licenses to any gay or straight couple, citing her religious beliefs.

Kim Davis was sued by 5 couples, and the U.S. District Judge David L. Bunning, last Wednesday ordered her to comply with the supreme court ruling, Bunning in a statement said that her refusal ; likely violated the constitutional rights of her constituents.

Bunnin said :

Davis remains free to practice her Apostolic Christian beliefs. She may continue to attend church twice a week, participate in Bible Study and minister to female inmates at the Rowan County Jail. She is even free to believe that marriage is a union between one man and one woman, as many Americans do.

However, her religious convictions cannot excuse her from performing the duties that she took an oath to perform as Rowan County Clerk.

In an email received by Doynews, David Moore wrote;

I just wanted to reach out to you with an update - we went back for a second attempt recently after a federal judge ruled for an injunction ordering our County Clerk to issue marriage licenses. We were denied again by the deputy clerk (Kim Davis' son) and the Judge Executive Doc Blevins. We filmed the exchange again and the media was present. Other couples went in after us as well.

David Moore also tried speaking with Judge Executive Walter Blevins over the phone, and from their conversations, he was told that it can't be done, and there is no way to force Kim Davis to do it, as it is her office. Blevins said that he does not know the paperwork or the software used in issuing the license, and there is only 1 person that could do it, and the individual can't go ahead without her authorization.

David Ermold in a tearful mood, while being patted at the back by partner, David Moore said ;

People are cruel and this is wrong, that is how it is, and that is the bottom line. She is wrong, and this people are cruel to do this to us, and that is how i feel, and i dont know what else to say.

We have waited for years to get married. This is supposed to be a progressive county. This is what we were told, but this is not..

This is pathetic. This how gay people are treated in this country, this is what it is like, this is their experience. This is how it feels.

If nothing comes out of these, i hope people get to understand that this is wrong.
