Human Error Causes Other Alexa User To Eavesdrop On Another Home

Alexa customer has reported that he was able to listen to his messages and 1,700 recorded audio messages of another Alexa neighbour in Frankfurt, Germany. 

When the user contacted Amazon about the recorded links and error that had occurred, he was met it no response from Amazon, who later deleted the recorded links from the Alexa account, but according to the owner of the device, he had already downloaded the audio messages to his computer.

               

According to a spokesman for Amazon on Thursday, "This unfortunate case was the result of a human error and an isolated single case. We resolved the issue with the two customers involved and took measures to further optimize our processes. As a precautionary measure we contacted the relevant authorities"
