Cuban Leader, Fidel Castro Is Dead At 90

Former President Fidel Castro is dead. The former Cuban leader defied 10 American presidents, and adopted Soviet-style communism, and was also the last communist government in the Western Hemisphere. Fidel Castro died at 90 years old.

                  

Fidel ruled the Island nation 90 miles from Florida, and form an alliance with the Soviet Union, Venezuela and China. A move that inspires a wave of anti-American among other Latin American nation along the way.

Known for his long beard, Fidel Castro survives the US trade embargo and other embargo on his country, survived different assassination attempts.

In 2006, ill health forced him to formally hand over power to his brother, Raul Castro, who also announced the death of his brother on state television.
