Abia State, Nigeria: The Federal high court in Abuja, preceded by Justice Okon Abang has removed Governor Okezie Ikpeazu from the office after he was discovered to have presented a fake tax clearance. The judge has asked that the Independent National Electoral Commission of Nigeria to give the certificate of return to the opponent of Ikpeazu to Uche Ogah, his opponent in the December 2014 gubernatorial election.
The judge said that Ikpeazu was never qualified to run in the primaries, and should have never qualified as the state flag bearer for the People Democratic Party (PDP).
