Rivers, Nigeria: Kidnappers in Rivers are demanding N25million for the release of Joseph Dimpa, Martina Ofuru, and Charity Mbajike, and a National youth service corps (NYSC) member, Obinna Duru and a security guard, Jonathan Woforu.
They were kidnapped on October 12 at the Agba-Ndele Community Secondary School in Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State. The kidnappers are making their demands known through one of the community chief of Ndele Community.
The ruler of the Ndele Community, Eze Godwin Iransi is pleading with the kidnappers to release of their victims for the love of God unconditionally, as the community have no such fee anywhere.
Eze Godwin Iransi said;
They (abductors) have been able to call; they called one of my chiefs and they demanded a ransom of N25 million.
I am pleading that, at least, for the sake of God and for the sake of humanity, release those four persons. Two of them are women and two of them are men. How can you take women to God knows where. They took them through the Sembrero River. Are they keeping them in the creeks? Are they keeping them in the bush? Are they keeping them under what condition? They should please release them,” he appealed
