LASEPA Shut Down Nwankwo Kanu Hotel, Churches And Mosques In Lagos

The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) has closed down the legendary Nigeria football player, Kanu Nwankwo hotel, and also some churches, mosques for noise and air pollution.

Kanu Nwankwo's hotel, the Hardley apartments located at Victoria Island was sealed off by LASEPA, after many requests for the hotel and other institutions to address the air and noise pollution.

     

The director of the agency, Kayode Bello, said the generators powering the hotels had a large exhaust pipe facing the road and after it was tested, it was discovered that it gave off thick gaseous emissions.

Bello said :

 Even the sound is going to be more than 45 decibels at night. We want you to comply, that is the reason we are here. We have been on this for more than a year.

Kanu hotel was part of the facilities sealed off among other churches, Mosques in areas including Ketu, Ikorodu, Ibeju-Lekki, Victoria Island and Surulere.
