Second Biafran War Is Not Necessary- Chukwuemeka Ojukwu

As the Igbo community continues to chant on the street for a new Biafra republic, we have decided to share with Nigerians and Igbos a video interviewwith the leader and the man who started the talk about the Biafra republic,  Chukwuemeka Ojukwu.

Chukwuemeka Ojukwu led the war that lasted for two and a half years (1967–1970)  before he fled the country to Ivory Coast and went on exile. The war led to the death of more than one million people due to starvation and gunfire.

The war was caused due to a coup in January 1966 that led to killings of Northern leaders, including  Nigeria's Prime Minister, Ahmadu Bello, Tafawa Balewa and 30 others, but the coup was quickly tagged a "Igbo coup" because the Igbo president, Nnamdi Azikwe, the President, of Igbo extraction, and the premier of the southeastern part of the country were not killed.

The Hausas retaliated in July 1966, the Northern army staged a counter coup, retaliating the coup by the Igbo officers, killing the head of state at that time, Johnson Aguiyi Ironsi. This two coups will forever cause an ethnic tension between the Igbos and the Hausas, and both have always been like day and night in Nigeria.

Emergence Of New Biafra

Just like the minions, Igbo people have found new hero again, after Ojukwu's death, and the a new hero is Nnamdi Kanu, tagged the "Redeemer of Biafra", who has warmed his way into the heart of Igbos, both home and abroad, and they are all looking to restore the legacy of their past leader,  Chukwuemeka Ojukwu, and in the process have tagged Nigeria a zoo, and people living there are probably animals.

New Biafra warlord and hero, Nnamdi Kanu

The country's president, Muhammadu Buhari has also been tagged, a Paedophile among many other names.

What Will Ojukwu Do?

The leader of the defunct Biafra, Chukwuemeka Ojukwu during on his interview after he was pardoned and asked to return from exile, gave a short interview, and this is the excerpt from the video.

Ojukwu who said that he led the first BIafra war proudly said that he and others should have learned during the first Biafra war,  and he doesn't think Nigeria will need a second war, and it will be a mistake for anyone to propose another Biafra war.

Why Now? Why Another Secession

The new secession can be easily said is due to the new leader of the Nigerian government, President Muhammadu Buhari. The ethnic tension between the Igbos and the Hausas still lingers in their memory of the both parties.

These are people that never saw what happened during the Biafra war, and are ready to go for a new war, if it means the Igbo having a new country.

The Igbos would have preferred someone like President Jonathan to continue ruling the country, and it was no surprise to see that Goodluck Jonathan cleared all Igbo states during the presidential election in Nigeria, because Igbos detest the Hausa tribe on the seat of power.

What Will Happen Next?

Nobody can give an accurate answer to this. The chanting continues, and the new Igbo hero keeps talking to them via radio and social media, and telling them to push on.

Doynews will give updates as story on Biafra land unfolds.
