Syrian Refugee Saves A Canadian Wedding Four Days Staying In Canada

A Syrian refugee who arrived in Canada just four days before never knew he would be saving the wedding of Jo Du after her zipper broke on the wedding day.Nobody at the wedding knew what they could do to save the day, and there was no tailor working in Guelph, Ontario on Sunday.

Fortunately for the bride, a Syrian refugee has just moved next door four days before the wedding. He had been a tailor for 28 years in Aleppo, Syria.

So why panic sets in, the photographer had a hunch. She had noticed that the garage of the neighbour was open, as they were only renting their place for the wedding to host family and friends, So she asked if someone could go ahead and ask if they could give them a plier to fix the dress.

According to their neighbour, David Hobson, he had noticed a nicely dressed woman in a bridesmaid’s dress came running up the street asking for our help. When he heard the situation on ground from the bridesmaid, Hobson told her he had something better than the tools.

David Hobson took in a family of Syrian refugees, one of 50 sponsored by Guelph businessman, Jim Estill.

Hobson knew the father was a tailor by trade who also had his sewing kit. So with the help of Google translate, the situation was communicated to Halil Dudu, who could at the time not speak English. Halil responded in via the translator, "I like to help Canadian people from my heart.”

Within minutes, Dudu pulled out his sewing kit and get to work. He fixed the wedding dress while the wedding party looks in awe. "He literally sewed her wedding dress back onto her, Everyone was so grateful. They said thank you a million times.”Lindsay Coulter, the photographer who captured the whole film said.

The post have been shared more than eleven thousand times, and also a Canadian, Carlos Azevodo write;

Not sure how to contact Mr. Hobson and Mr. Dudu but if he is interested in a almost new Junki commercial five thread table sewing machine, I have one sitting in my home that they can have for free. Just have to pick it up, Toronto.
