Turai Yar’Adua Visits Obasanjo Home, Ask Him To Stop Buhari Anti-Corruption Hunt

The former first lady and wife of the late Musa Yar'Adua, Turai Yar'Adua on Saturday paid a surprise visit to the predecessor of her husband, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo in his residence in Abeokuta, Ogun state.

She was accompanied by Kenny Martins, a business mogul to see Obasanjo at his Hilltop mansion in Ogun state where they had a meeting that lasted for an hour before departing in the convoy of 3 cars.

           

The former first lady had met with Olusegun Obasanjo to discuss about the recent investigation of her daughter by the anti-graft agency, EFCC on the allegation of fraud. Turai begged the Obasanjo to please intercede for herself and her family with President Buhari not to harass her family or victimize those who worked under his administration.

According to a premium times, a source said :

 She specifically intimated the former President of the ongoing probe of one of her daughters, Zainab, by the EFCC. She believed it is a witch-hunt, a ploy by the Buhari government to get at her family.

One of the aide to President Obasanjo confirmed the visit and said :

 It is true that she visited on Saturday,” the aide said. “I don’t know exactly what she discussed with Baba (Obasanjo). But I think it is safe to say she came to greet him and discuss issues relevant to the two families.

The Economic and financial crime commission recently had invited the daughter of Turai Yar'Adua (Zainab) and also the wife of the former Kebbi state governor, Saidu Dakingari, for alleged N2billion fraud perpetrated during her husband's tenure as governor of Kebbi state
