A man with mental issues over the weekend raped a 22 year old student of Delta state university (DELSU). The student(unnamed) was raped while withdrawing money from an Automated teller machine, ATM.
The man, Known as Theophilus, suffering from mental disorder had attacked the student at an ATM unit in Abraka state while she was waiting to use the ATM. The man had dragged the lady to a nearby bush where he allegedly raped her. All efforts of the lady to seek help from people around the machine at the time of the incident failed.
Customers around the bank at the moment said they thought the lady was playing, and her screams got the attention of passersby who came to help her. The man was not going to allow his victim get away even after being beaten by rescuers.
The victim was rushed to the hospital where he is currently being treated for bruises, police said.
