Jabari R. Dean

Police have arrested a student at the University of Illinois-Chicago on Monday after making an online threat targeting the student of the University of Chicago main campus. The threat which was taken seriously by the FBI, with the FBI asking the school to shut down the campus for safety reasons.

Twenty year old Jabari R. Dean was identified as the suspect, and he was charged with transmitting a threat in interstate commerce.

Dean made the threat via a comment posted on World Star Hip-Hop, referencing the shooting of Lacquan McDonald by a Chicago police officer in 2014. Dean posted the comment via his phone, but took the comment down moment after.

The original threat reads :

This is my only warning. At 10AM Monday morning, I'm going to the campus quad of the University of Chicago. I will be armed with an M-4 carbine and two desert eagles, all fully loaded. I will execute approximately 16 white male students and or staff, which is the same number of time McDonald was killed," wrote the commenter, who posted with the initials "JRD" and a Chicago Bulls logo, according to the police report. "I will then die killing any number of white policeman in the process. This is not a joke. I am to do my part and rid the world of white devils. I expect you do the same.

When police search Dean's apartment on Monday's morning, nothing was found. 

                    

Classes was canceled on Sunday's night in the University of Chicago main campus, and officials have announced classes will start again on Tuesday
