Bank Building Burnt Down In Hanoi, Vietnam

Hanoi, Vietnam: A Bank and 5-storey building at 158, Nguyen Khanh Toan street, Hanoi caught fire today (12-04-2015) at around 6:30pm. The National Joint stock commercial bank (NCB), Cau Giay was affected in the fire.

             

A resident of the area, Nguyen Thi Luong said she was just sitting down when she heard people shouting about the fire by the roadside, she said the fire had already spread across the first floor of the building, and about the 10 minutes later, it spread to the upper parts of the building. Loud bangs can be heard during the fire, but nobody was in the building during the fire outbreak.

                       

Another eyewitness at the incident, Liang said, 5 minutes after the fire outbreak, firefighters were there to put out the fire and in 30minutes, the fire was put out by the men of the team.

                       

The police department in Cau Giay said that 4 vehicles with 50 men were sent to the scene to put out the fire, and at the time of the fire, nobody was inside the building. So no human casualties were recorded.

                         

                          

Speaking with reporters, the representative of the national bank said the causes of fire is likely due to the electric system malfunction in the billboards outside the office. The bank representative also assured customers that the entire documents of transactions are kept intact and are not affected by the fire outbreak. He said the bank had his planned action for such incidents and the bank will resume operation on Tuesday, 14-04-2015.
