Kogi State : The Independent electoral commission(INEC) announced the election result in Kogi state, Nigeria. The governorship battle was between the incumbent governor of the state,Idris Wada of PDP and Abubakar Audu of APC.

INEC declared Audu Abubakar as winner of the governorship race. According to INEC, Audi Abubakar had 240, 867 to win the incumbent governor, Idris Wada who only had 199,514 votes.
According to Saharareporters, Audu Abubakar moments after getting the result of the election died of a yet undisclosed sickness. The cause of feath is yet to be known.
