Craigslist Scam: 2 Men Travelled, Rent A Car, Sell Via Craigslist, And Travelled Back Home

Police in Nashville are looking for 2 men, Kaleb Louis, 22 and 20-year-old Maurice Lewis. The two men had travelled from Texas on March 14 to Nashville to commit a crime. According to police, the men had previously had criminal records in Texas.

When the duo arrived at Nashville, they rented Chevrolet Suburban at 9:27pm with a fake California driver's license, and a South Carolina residence. While in Nashville, the men put up an ad on craiglist for the sale of the car they had rented, belonging to Enterprise Rent-A-Car.

They were contacted by Kyle Whitlow from Lafayette who responded to the ad and wanted to buy the car from the men. The three men decided to meet at the McDonald’s on McGavock Pike near Lebanon Road in Nashville.

Kyle was suspicious when he gave the money to the duo, but they never counted the money completely, but instead jumped into another dark grey Dodge Charger. When he returned home, and tried to entitle the new car to his name, that was when the veil in his eyes was removed, and he got to know that the car actually belongs to EAN Holdings LLC, the company behind Enterprise Rent-A-Car.

When police seized the SUV, they realized that the license plate on the Suburban was registered to a 1998 Toyota Camry belonging  Joshua and Kristin Yarbrough, who themselves were surprised that they had been driving a car without noticing it.

The two travelled back to Texas after selling the car on March 15, and currently at large.
