Custom Officials In Ho Chi Minh City Intercepted Guns Smuggled Into The Country

Lieutenant General To Lam, Deputy Minister of Public Security as praised customs officials for their effort in detecting 94 military handguns and 472 magazines and seizing the shipment that had came on a Turkey flight.

The customs officials had stopped the shipment last Friday at the Tan Son Nhat International airport. Airport customs officers, in conjunction with the Ministry of Public Security’s General Economic Security Department and other units, launched an investigation, which revealed that the gun had the code "SG", and as cited by some local media, the gun may be headed to Singapore as it is believed that some officials still make the mistake of sending packages with "SG" to Ho Chi Minh, which used to be Saigon "SG".
