Abuja, Nigeria: A Socio-cultural Fulani association visited President Jonathan yesterday at the Aso Rock Villa to endorse him as their preferred candidate for the March 28 presidential election.
Speaking at the meeting, the chairman of the association, Alhaji Abdullah Bodejo assured president Jonathan that the association will go back and campaign on his behalf to the Fulani people as they have seen the he is a man that have the heart of the Fulani people at heart.
The president was also made a life patron of the association. Speaking to the group amidst chanting of Nigeria, Sai Jonathan’’, “Nigeria, Sai Goodluck,” , the president commended the Fulani for their contribution in the country's economic growth, especially in the area of food security in the country.
The president promised that his government will work with the Fulanis and also provide and develop places where they can stay and get water for their animals.
He said :
We are working with some governors and we have a committee that is looking into the matter to ensure that you no longer pass through much pain to rear your cattle
