ISIS Leader Arrested On His Way To Nigeria, President Buhari Orders Full Probe On How Got Visa

A preacher who was known for his role in the 2011 outbreak of Syrian civil war, Ahmad al-Assir, has been arrested on his way to Nigeria. The radical jihadist is also ISIS leader. Al-Alsir was arrested at the Beirut airport, Lebanon, while trying to leave the country for Nigeria.

                     

Ahmad al-Assir, had changed his appearance by removing his bushy beard, changed his wire-rimmed spectacles for a thick plastic  frame, and also his hair into unflattering combover. He is wanted for the clash in 2013 when his supporters clash with the military at the military checkpoint. The fighting happened around Sidon,Lebanon wounded dozen of civilians, while other remained paralysed.

Ahmad al-Assir was making his way into Nigeria after 2 years on the run from authorities, but was carrying a fake Palestinian  passport and an original Nigeria passport. 

The foreign ministry of affairs reported that the Nigerian president, Muhammadu Buhari has ordered a full investigation on how a man like Ahmad al-Assir could get the country passport, while he is being hunted by several governments for the act of terrorism.

                  

The official who does not want to be named said;

 The reported‎ arrest of the wanted terrorist is a huge embarrassment to Nigeria and the President has directed that the matter should be investigated. The embassy in Lebanon has been directed to furnish the ministry with details of how the man got the visa. The National Intelligence Agency Officer has been directed to provide details of what happened.
