Angel Di Maria has expressed his satisfaction in joining his new club, PSG, and also playing in the Champions League after a tough year in Manchester United. The Argentina international had joined Manchester United for a sum of £59.7 million in the summer of 2014.
Di Maria had difficulties playing with the new Manchester United coach, Louis Van Gaal, and did not join the pre-season tour of the club, instead joined the French champions, PSG for a sum of £44.3m this summer.
Di Maria who is now playing the champions league again, while speaking to UEFA.com about his absence in the last UEFA competition said;
Yes, I missed it a lot, actually.Last year was pretty difficult for me – I couldn't play and my injury was really complicated. Not being able to compete in the Champions League after having won it made it a pretty tough time for me.
The 27-year-old Di Maria announce his comeback after netting two goals at the Parc des princes stadium in a win against their opponent, Malmo, last week. The midfielder while talking about his move to the French team said;
Paris is a really nice city. My family has felt very good here from the first day they arrived. That makes it a lot easier for me to focus on football. From the day I arrived here, I could see the quality of the players here and the ambition they have to win [the Champions League] – the desire they show in every training session and in every match.
We all have the same ambition and desire to fight for it. And I think that with the players here we can achieve it.
