Edo, Nigeria: A 45 years old man, Osayande Ekhator had died during a deliverance session at the Hope Ministry, also known as the Holy Ghost Deliverance Centre on Okwanga Street around Uselu Quarters in Egor Local Government Area of Edo State.

The man was taken to the church by family members to be cure of insanity, but after a few hours, the neighbours and people staying this area had a loud cry coming from the direction of the church, on getting to the scene, they saw a lifeless body of Osayande with blood on his blood.
Some residents of the area said that it is likely for the man to have hit his head against the wall or hard object during the deliverance session. Also, his father, Pa Ekhator said that the deliverance had gone awry as he suspected that his son's hands and legs were tied together and thrown to the ground. He said :
They forced him and tied him as usual and threw him down. From there, they carried a bucket full of water and poured it on his body. And when his mother asked while, they told her that is what they usually do; that after struggling, they wanted him to have rest and cool down. After about five minutes, she came crying that Osayande was dead.
The sister of the deceased shared another story as she believes that his brother was beaten to death during the deliverance session.
The pastor of the church who is now in police custody, Mrs. Isoken Ekundaye said that all that was said about her and her church members were wrong, she said that the church don't beat people or kill them, people bring insane people to the church and they heal them.
The youths in the residential area have gone to the church premises and destroyed the church valuables after the incident.
