Man Gunned Down Deputy Sheriff In Cold Blood In Houston, Texas

A CCTV footage at a petrol station in Harris County, Texas has led police to believe a male suspect killed Married dad-of-two, Darren Goforth while pumping into a squad car.

The 47 year old Darren was at the petrol station when the man walked up to him, and shot him multiple times, and later flee the scene with a red or maroon Ford Ranger pickup.

                        

Harris County Sheriff's Office wrote;

Tonight we lost one of our brothers. This is an extremely difficult time right now for the Harris County Sheriff's Office. We ask that you continue to give us your prayers and thoughts. Continue praying for this deputy's family.

This was an unprovoked attack. Deputy Goforth left behind a wife and two children. He was a 10-year veteran with the Sheriff's Office. Our hearts are broken tonight.

Deputy Thomas Gilliland in a press briefing said;

He was pumping into his vehicle and the male suspect came up behind him and shot the deputy multiple times. The deputy fell to ground. The suspect came over and shot the deputy again multiple times as he lay on the ground.

EMS arrived on scene. Unfortunately, the deputy passed. 

               

Police have released the description of the killer to be six feet tall with short hair, wearing a white T-shirt and red shorts, and aged between 20 and 25.

A witness at the scene of the incident called police after the shooting at 8:30pm, bringing deputies racing to the scene.
