Myuran Sukumaran and Andrew Chan Receives 72-hour Execution Notice

The hope of the Bali Nine duos,  Myuran Sukumaran and Andrew Chan were dashed today from being granted mercy after they received a confirmation that they will be part of the duo to die next week Tuesday.

This is a nightmare for the family after they had tried all diplomatic tie with the Indonesian government and follow other legal procedure to help the duo escape the death sentence. It became clear today after Australian and other embassy officials representing prisoners on death row with the Bali Nine pair met in Cilicap, near the prison Island of Nusakambangan.

After the meeting, they headed straight to the prison to pass the news that the 72 hours for prisoners on death row has commenced.

Speaking about the case, Attorney-General HM Prasetyo had said that the delay tactics are over, and he is not waiting for the new date of execution :

What we respect is the legal process, not the ones challenging it, I hear they’re going to challenge to the constitutional court. Go ahead!

That’s their business, but we’re not affected by that.If (the challenge) is accepted, it won’t be for existing decisions

We will no longer wait

The Indonesian president had denied clemency for all prisoners on death row and had ordered that all prisoners on death row who had exhausted all appeals should face a firing squad.

The 2 Australians were arrested for trying to smuggle  heroin worth $4million into Australia and had been on death row in Kerobokan jail since 2006.
