Nigeria: Revert Petrol Price Now, Or I Will Organize All Nigerians For The Biggest Protest Yet

Sen. Dino Melaye, representing Kogi West Senatorial District has urged the Buhari-Led government to reduce the recent Petrol pump price from 145 Naira to 86.50 Naira, the price Nigerians get the petrol before the current administration.

Dino vent his anger via his Facebook page on Thursday Night, and threatened the Nigeria government till Monday, and that if there is no reversal on the recent decision of the fuel hike by the government, he will mobilize Nigerians far and wide for a massive protest.

Dino Melaye wrote;

My sincere advise is for the National Chairman of our party to suggest that the federal government immediately reverse the announced increase in the pump price of PMS. If after seven days from Monday, there is no reversal, I will mobilize Nigerians from all walks of life for the mother of all protest. “This is not what we promised Nigerians. The time is not right and the negative effects will be unbearable. A word is enough for the wise.

During Goodluck Jonathan administration, Dino Melaye was one of the voices in the massive protest that kicked off when pump price was increased from 65 Naira per litre to 141 Naira in 2012. Following the massive protest and negotiation, pump price was reduced to 97 Naira per litre, and later reduced to 87 Naira per litre.

Though commenters on the Facebook page of Dino Melaye have called him out for the comment about mobilising Nigerians, as they lost trust in the senator supporting different politicians like Bukola Saraki, who was allegedly corrupt and currently facing trial.
