Nigerian Man Sentenced To Life Imprisonment For Drugs Possesion In Indonesia

Uzoma Elele Alpha, a Nigerian national living in Indonesia has been sentenced to life imprisonment for drug possession. The Indonesian police found methamphetamine and marijuana worth $451,400 in his apartment at the Margonda Residence tower in Depok when immigration authorities raided his apartment last December.

          

Police have asked Alpha his travel documents, but he couldn't present the documents,and was immediately arrested and tested for drug test, and he was positive for Marijuana. So the police not stopping at that decided to raid the man's home, and they found 300 grams of marijuana.

The prosecutors wanted life sentence for Alpha, but he was lucky to only have life imprisonment.

Indonesian authorities had killed 8 foreign nationals in March, and a Nigerian and Ghanaian was among the executed. The country policies on drug is a death sentence, and Alpha might just have to thank his stars.
