Norwegian Police Fired Only 2 Shots In 2014 According To Reports

According to the Police Threat or Use of Firearms 2002-2014 statistics report that was published last month, Norwegian policemen fired only 2 shots in the whole of 2014, this is a slight decrease to 3 shots that was fired in 2013, injuring 2 people.

      

The 2 shots fired in 2014 did not injure or kill anybody. The police only brandished their weapon in 42 occasions in 2014, the lowest number of times they brandished their weapon in 12 years, and even in 2005 and 2010, they only brandished their weapon 75 times.

The Norweigian police officers have killed 2 people in 12 years in a fatal police shootings in 2005 and 2006 respectively.

During the Utøya  terror attack in 2011, the police only fired a shot.
