Powerful Manhattan Prosecutor, Preet Bharara Fired By Jeff Sessions

Powerful Manhattan Prosecutor, Preet Bharara has been fired by US attorney general, Jeff Sessions. Preet along with other US attorney were asked to step down on Friday, but he refused to turn in his own resignation, and was fired on Saturday by Sessions.

                

The prosecutor is known for always taking the fight head on as prosecutor of the southern district of New York. He had recently opened an investigation into Fox News, he was looking if the network had failed its shareholders that it settled a sexual assault claim that was made against Roger Ailes, its former CEO.

He is also looking into the Democratic governor, Andrew Cuomo and the Democratic governor of New York, Bill de Blasio. He also prosecuted former Republican state senator Dean Skelos of a high profile insider trading.

How He Was Fired

Breaking the tradition of the White house and a breach to the Justice department, the President's secretary called Preet on Thursday, and he reported the call to the Justice department, and they told him not to speak to the President directly.

And on Friday, Jeff Sessions told all the prosecutors to resign, nearly all of the prosecutors was appointed by the Obama led government.

Preet was yet to turn in his resignation letter, and news outlet like AP, Daily Beast and Reuters cited  anonymous sources that Preet is not looking to resign from his position, and he was fired on Saturday.
