The minister of information, Senator Patricia Akwashiki had said that she was misquoted by the media that Mr Goodluck Jonathan will handover on May 28th. Senator Patricia said that the dinner organised for the president-elect is not meant for a formal handover, and that the official handover is May 29th.

She said a dinner will be held for the hosted by the outgoing president, Chief Ebele Jonathan to the president elect, General Muhammadu Buhari, and an award will also be given to him.
She also said all handover procedures is handled by the secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Anyim Pius Anyim.
