Prisoner Of War :Bowe Robert Bergdahl Might Be Charged With Desertion

The prisoner of war that was released after 5 years in captivity, Bowe Bergdahl will be court martialed on charges of desertion during military service. The sergeant was reported to have left his post after scepticism about the military role in the Afghanistan role.

The desertion of military posts in the US military carries a maximum of the death penalty, but the US military official said that is not likely to happen. Bergdahl was captured by the Talibans and held by members of the Haqqani network, a terrorist cell that operates in Afghanistan and Pakistan.

                         

May 31, 2014, Bergdahl was released to the US special forces in Afghanistan as part of of exchange of 5 other Talibans, Khair Ulla Said Wali,  Mullah Mohammed Fazl, Abdul Haq Wasiq, Mohammed Nabi Omari, Mullah Norrulah Nori.

The members of his former unit have called for serious punishment for the desertation, because a lot of other soldiers risked their lives for him, while some died looking for him.
