Malacca,Malaysia: The Malacca state immigration department arrested 40 Vietnamese ladies, some as young as 16-years-old after a raid on Wednesday evening in Taman Melaka Raya. The ladies were arrested while entertaining clients at a pub in the city.

While speaking about the raid, acting director of the immigration department, Abu Bakar Sidek Hassan said that the raid was a joint effort by his team and the team at Putrajaya after a lot of complaints from residents about noise and undesirable activities in the area.
Abu Bakar Sidek Hassan said ;
We raided the pub three times last year but the owner remained defiant and continued operations with impunity.Though the team does lack manpower during previous operations, but the recent operation have got a lot of officers, and it was successful
Almost 40 thugs keeping watch tried to prevent us from entering but we managed to overpower them. And some of the guest relation officers (GROs) have violated their social visit passes, while some had no travel documents.
All of them were nabbed and brought back to our office in Ayer Keroh for screening
