Ferguson, Missouri : A police officer on staurday 16th of August 2014 shot an unarmed black male walking on the street of Ferguson. According to eye witnesses, Michael brown and his friend,Dorian Johnson was walking on the unfortunate afternoon when a police car pulled close to them and asked that they walk on the sidewalk and not the main road. Dorian Johnson, who was on the scene said, the policeman said " Get the f*** out of the road and use the sidewalk" and they both calmly said that they are currently not obstructing traffic and they will soon be home in a couple of minutes.
The young man who was to resume college on the following Monday was then engaged in a little scuffle with the police while the police was in his car. According to other 2 eyewitnesses that spoke to the press in the presence of their attorney, the girls said the police was trying to pull Michael into the car while in his car and Michael was not going to enter the car, while Michael was away for from the officer's car, a shot was fired which makes Michael brown and Dorian Johnson took to their heels.
While 20m away from the vehicle, the police officer, which which name was later released to the public as Darren Wilson, shot his gun which, was said to have hit Michael, but he was still standing and raised his hand in awareness to the police that he now surrenders and can be arrested, but Darren was not having all of that, instead he shot more bullet at the young man, eye witnesses have said to have heard more than 5-7 shots fired at Michael before he later went down and died. It was also said the police officer went over where he was lying to fire more shots at the young man.
The governor of Missouri, Jay Nixon had announced a curfew because since the shooting, a lot of protest from people of different ethnic groups had come together with their arms raised and shouting "Hands Up, Dont Shoot" and a lot of looting had been going on since this incident. A lot of shops had lost expensive merchandise as looters decided this is the best way to cart away with what they want.
The police had released the name of the officer involved in the shooting, but not the picture to keep his family safe from reprisal attacks, but the Police commissioner also released a video that showed Michael Brown in a grocery store getting some cigar and pushing the Indian man away from the challenging him. A lot of people have condemned this action and called it assasination of character and the police chief only want a cheap score to blow away the case. This had caused a lot of debates on TV and also caused another form of violence protest.Though ythe police Chief had explained that this was not related to the shooting, but he needed to release it, he had sat down on the video for long and it needed to be out there..
