The liberal government in Canada is set to announce next month on the legalization of Marijuana come July 1, 2018. The Bill Blair, the former Toronto police chief recently briefed the Liberal caucus on the roll out plan of the legislation during a meeting with caucus this weekend.
Provinces will have the say on how Marijuana is distributed and sold to make sure that the supply is safe and secure. The provincial government will also have the right to set prices of the products.
The provincial government will also set age limit for those that can buy marijuana, though Ottawa has set its age limit to 18 years old.
Families that are looking to grow the plant will only be allowed four plants per household.
Legalization of marijuana is one of Prime minister Justin Trudeau campaign promises, and this will also be necessary to legalize marijuana to be able to restrict and access it, keep it out of the reach of children, and the profits out of the hands of criminals.
