Chattanooga military shooting

A man has killed four marines, injuring several others in the Chattanooga military recruiting center and Navy-Marine training facility, Tennessee, USA. The man went on a murderous rampage on Thursday in what officials are calling"act of domestic terrorism".

The man who was killed by the police was identified as Kuwaiti-born shooter, Mohammad Youssuf Abdulazeez, a 24 year old resident of Hixson, Tennessee, holding  a US and Jordanian citizenship, officials said.

Police later invaded the home of the shooter, and took away 2 women in handcuffs. The FBI is currently looking into the action of the man, if he is acting on the call from the Muslim terrorist group, ISIS, who had called on its followers to increase their attack in the holy month of Ramadan, which ends on Friday. A move that also caused the act of terrorism in Tunisia, when a man killed 5 British national and 37 other people from different countries.

President Obama in his speech said that the FBI would spearhead the investigation into the "heartbreaking attack" which he called the work of a “lone gunman.” President Obama said :

“We take all shootings very seriously,Obviously, when you have an attack on a US military facility, we have to make sure that we have all the information necessary to make an assessment of how this attack took place and how to take precautions in the future.”

The FBI special agent in charge of the case, Ed Reinhold, said that :

We are looking at every possible avenue, whether it was terrorism — whether it was domestic, international — or whether it was a simple, criminal act.

How The Shooting Happened

Mohammad Youssuf Abdulazeez rolled up from his Mustang, and fired a shot at around 10:45am, said Brian Lepley, a spokesman for the US Army Recruiting Command in Fort Knox, Ky.

“ Shortly after that, just a few seconds, the shooter began shooting more rounds. We realized it was an actual shooting,” Sgt. 1st Class Robert Dodge, 36 told CBS news. He fired 30-50 shots.

Terrified recruiters then ran laid on the floor, and hide themselves in safe places. The shooter then drove 7 miles away from the place of his first shooting to the Navy Operational Support Center and Marine Corps Reserve Center, where he went on another shooting spree, killing four people.

I couldn’t even begin to tell you how many [bullets were fired],” Marilyn Hutcheson, who works across the street at Binswanger Glass, told CBS News. I locked myself with other employees for at least 20 minutes. If it was a grievance or terroristic-related, we just don’t know.

It was rapid fire, like pow, pow, pow, pow, pow, so quickly. The next thing I knew, there were police cars coming from every direction.

The shooter, Abdulazeez was later shot by police when he rammed a gate at the reserve centre, CNN reported
