Jude Okoye

Trouble in P-Square entertainment circle, and this time is between the manager of P-Square and also their cousin, Jude Okoye and singer Peter Okoye. And in the most embarrassing sack ever, Peter sacked his cousin and manager of the duo on Twitter.

The whole saga happened recently when Peter, who undeniably have been angry with Jude went on Twitter and wrote a series of tweets about his relationship with Jude and then said he stood on his ground that Jude is fired.

Read the tweets here:

Not to confuse the fans, Peter decided to let the fan in on some of the secrets happening in the group, and he does split a lot, and the female reggae artiste, Cynthia Morgan was also dragged in the series of tweets.

With all these tweets, it is clear to fans that  a separation might be imminent as the duo, Peter and Paul had always been together in music, but even before the tweets, they seem to be doing things differently, including the "Dance with peter" and not Dance with Psquare.

Also recently, Paul was single-handedly signed as an ambassador of Nigerian Urban Reproductive Health Initiative (NURHI), something that would have been P-Square.

In few days, we probably would know where this is headed, but at the moment, Paul seems to support Jude and not Peter's side.

The day 2 of the fight between Jude "Engees" Okoye/Psquare continues today after the P-Square brother and manager, Jude Okoye decided to call Soundcity out for their comment yesterday.

Fans have asked why Soundcity TV has not been playing Psquare videos on their channel, and Peter of Psquare called on their fans to boycott the TV channels and instead watch other reputable TV stations like HipTv, TraceTv, MTV Base and Afropop.

The brother to the duo then continues from where the beef stopped and said that Soundcity have approached them to render a show performance for free, and they disagree. In his tweets, he also said that the TV stations only makes a living playing their videos, and also are not paying royalties.

Soundcity TV once again sat down to reply them, just like they took Peter to history class 101 yesterday. Read the epistle of reply they gave Jude

RE: DON’T BE A JUDAS, JUDE.

 Dear Jude and @SoundcityTV Fans,

Thank you for your tweets Jude; we will certainly address each of these tweets, especially since they are some sorts of allegation:

Of course, we did not think we are doing your group a ‘Favour’. Just like any other artistes, if you have a great material, we will showcase it on our channel and various platforms. Supporting, promoting, nurturing a talent isn’t a favour. It is obligatory, indeed?

‘Begging PSquare’ to Tour with? We needed the content? Soundcity is a music and lifestyle channel, music and music programming forms 80% of our content while lifestyle handles the remainder. We are pretty sure the expense of touring with you then was much more than rotating music videos, make a business case out of this and you’ll see for yourself why we wouldn’t have ‘begged’ as you have claimed in your tweets…but hey! We did it for the LOVE!

Your job is to co-direct videos, and manage the group and ensure you do things in their best interest ‘reasonably’. Ours is to play the videos if we see them deem fit. Luckily, all your videos are co-directed with Clarence Peters, one of Nigeria’s biggest music video directors, partly a Soundcity Alumni. Please read between the lines of ‘reserving the rights to play.’ to fully understand what it means. Meanwhile, interestingly…our job also partly runs along us advising your group as per better professional input from us, for free.

We suggest rather than you wanting to ‘create’ a union in ‘we artiste’…you should speak and deal with your group squarely. NOBODY ever asked for your group to perform for FREE, only that we asked for a reasonable performance fee. You wanted to charge 10 or 12 Million or so. We are glad that a lot of artistes came through and yes; they played to their fans at the free event, for free. You may watch clips

We don’t pay Royalties? Your job as a manager is to ensure your artistes’ get their royalty pay cheques. Check with COSON and MCSN, SOUNDCITY pays Royalties every calendar year for music use on Soundcity and on sister channels, the platform carriers (DStv) doubles that effort too. Perhaps you should ask your colleagues in the industry about how that works. COSON is the Copyright Society of Nigeria and MCSN is the Musical Copyright Society of Nigeria, also you can learn more about COSON here http://www.cosonng.com

What Blackmail? You decided not to work with our brand, we decided not to work with your brand by withdrawing your videos from our channel and completely stopped doing business with you. Not sure that’s what ‘Blackmail’ means. You took a decision, we too ours too. Simple.

Lastly, we will do something rewarding for you today! Please tune in by 3PM to watch #PSQUARE: THEN & NOW! Fans will be able to catch videos from the early years to present and also, #PSQUARE vs. #USHER: ORIGINAL DANCE OFF! By 3:30 PM today. Actually, scratch that! We should but we won’t. We will do #CHRISBROWN vs #USHER: DANCEOFF for 3PM today instead, #ChrisBrown is trending right now on the Internet.

This is the last time we are speaking on this, we have a number one TV channel to run.

Holup!!! Holup Doyers...Why you were rushing through the reply, you missed some valid points, check it out again

1. if you have a great material, we will showcase it on our channel and various platforms : Psquare seems not to be doing a great job recently anyways, so this is an easy one. The last album tracks all sound the same to me...

2. Your job is to co-direct videos, and manage the group and ensure you do things in their best interest ‘reasonably’: We known Jude "Engees" Okoye to direct and produce videos for Psquare, but looks like Soundcity are saying that he does the opposite, and Clarence Peters is his saving grace. Well, they've toured together, so they know what we don't know. That point is deep, go figure...

3.You should speak and deal with your group squarely : This point got me thinking "Vector Tha Viper" is the one writing these replies, how can a PR person in Soundcity come up with that...hahahaha...Psquare --Squarely...

4.Perhaps you should ask your colleagues in the industry about how that works : Need i say more? Soundcity just says that Jude does not know his job, and should probably ask Banky W or Wizkid. Another word for this is ________________ (You said it)
