The US senate has now confirmed, Judge Neil M. Gorsuch as 113th justice of the Supreme Court on Friday. This is a win for Donald J. Trump, who during his campaign has said he would appoint a committed conservative to succeed Justice Antonin Scalia, who died in February 2016.
Vice-president Mike Pence presided over the vote, even though his vote for the confirmation was not necessary. The final tally was 54-45 in favour of Gorsuch confirmation.

Trump announced the nomination from the East room of the White House, and praised his new nomination, saying;
Judge Gorsuch has outstanding legal skills, a brilliant mind, tremendous discipline and has earned bipartisan support.

Neil Gorsuch, 49 is former Justice Antonin Scalia acolyte, and sits on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 10th Circuit. While speaking on his nomination, he channels Justice Scalia's philosophy and also writes with a Scalia-like flair.

Speaking on his nomination, Gorusuch said;

A judge who likes every outcome he reaches is very likely a bad judge, stretching for results he prefers rather than those the law demands.
