Owoseni Fatai

The Lagos state commissioner of police, Mr Fatai Owoseni has said that no fewer than 10 men of the underworld have been killed in the last 12 days in Lagos state. The commissioner discloses the information while speaking to newsmen on the recent activities of the command in the state in tackling recent armed robberies.

Owoseni said that some of the armed robbers were shot dead while exchanging gunfire with the men of the force, while others were killed while robbing residents in different parts of the state. 19 robbery suspects and 11 cultists have also been arrested in the state.

Some of the materials recovered from the suspects include; 15 ammunition gotten from the cultists, 2 canoes, 4 speed boats, 4 military camouflage uniforms, and 2 mobile police uniforms. Another 949 suspected rogue were also arrested and 83 was released after proper screening. 866 have been charged with various offences.

The commissioner asks that even though the robbery cases in Lagos state is reducing, the public still need to cooperate with the police to let them know of different robbery activities in their area.
