Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam: A Vietnamese court on Wednesday decreased the number of criminals in Saigon as it sends away 13 criminals to jail for another 6 years. The gang are known for staging a traffic accident with their victims,while the members of the crew comes in and takes away valuables from their victim.
According to Thanhnien, the criminal consisting of 2 women leaders, Tran Thi Tuyet Mai and Nguyen Thi Xuan Hang had other gang members and a shop where all stolen items are sold. The leader of the gang was sentenced to 6 years jail term, while other members of the gang received between one to five years in jail.
One of the leaders of the team, Tuyet Mai was arrested with 5 of her gang members after they tried to rob a South Korean tourist of his iPhone at the corner of Ham Nghi-Nam Ky Khoi Nghia. The arrest of the group led to arrest of another seven more gang members.
According to the tactics used by the group, they target their victims, and cause an accident with the victim, while the scene is chaotic, other members come in and take away valuables. The members confessed to have done 200 successful operations before being caught by the policemen.
The members have also extended their operations outside Ho chi Minh, as they always operate in Nha Trang, Binh Thuan and Vung Tau area. Some other areas they operate includes, Nam Ky Khoi Nghia, Ham Nghi,Nguyen Hue, Ly Tu Trong.
