Venezuela prison

Prisoners in Venezuela prisons are starving to death amid the economic crisis facing the country. The prisoners are starving to death as food and medicine run out in prison, and the prisoners have been seen standing in queue begging food from passers-by.

In a short video smuggled out of the prison yard, prisoners can be seen at San Juan de los Morros in the central Guarico region of Venezuela, looking emaciated.

Since the fall of the global oil prices, Venezuela have been hit with Food queues, hyperinflation and mass looting.

The video was reportedly shot by inmate Franklin Paul Hernandez Quezad. One of the prisoners during the filming was too weak, he had to be put on the chair.

While another inmate on wheelchair who needed a medicine said; "We are all human beings and we need a second chance." While another echoed "Please, don't leave us to die in here, help us brothers. We do not want to die."

There are claims in the Venezuelan media that the Venezuelan police had blocked the deliveries of food, medicine and water to the prison, a move that have caused outrage from family members of the inmate.
