A technical fault on the Airbus A321 has killed 224 people travelling which was flying from popular Egyptian holiday resort Sharm El-Sheikh to St Petersburg, in Russia crashed in central Sinai on Saturday morning.

Among the passengers on the plane are 214 Russian passengers, three Ukrainians and 7 on-board crew. According to rescue workers, all passengers on the flight have been confirmed dead. Rescue workers have pulled out more than 120 bodies, including five children.

The Airbus (Metrojet flight) was operated by the small Russian airline Kogalymavia, and was reported to have disappeared from Radar after it took off from the Sharm El-Sheikh – which is popular with British tourists.

An Egyptian officer who wish to remain anonymous said;

 I now see a tragic scene. A lot of dead on the ground and many who died whilst strapped to their seats.The plane split into two, a small part on the tail end that burned and a larger part that crashed into a rock.
 
 We have extracted at least 100 bodies and the rest are still inside.

ISIS Claims To Have Downed The Plane

ISIS affiliate in Egypt is laying claim that they downed the commercial plane in the Sinai Peninsula – where the jihadists are waging an insurgency. A statement on the website of Aamaq website was posted after the plane crash, and it said;

The fighters of the Islamic State were able to down a Russian plane over Sinai province that was carrying over 220 Russian crusaders. They were all killed, thanks be to God.
