ATM fraud in Ho chi minh

A user of the Chase eATM has complained that he was hacked while he was trying to use the Chase mobile banking app. He discovered he had been locked out of his account, and could not log in.

He then decides to visit a Chase bank location the next day, only to be told someone had changed his address and password on the app, and that he was hacked while he was trying to use the eATM machine. The hacked caused the customer $3,000.

                  

The user and Chase bank were able to resolve the issue, and he was able to re-claim his $3,000 again. Chase also confirmed to be getting a lot of hacking complaint from the user of the eATM app.

Ho Chi Minh , Vietnam: Two Turkish men identified as Hakan and Emrah have been found guilty by the Ho Chi Minh court on Tuesday after they withdraw VND300 million (US$13,400) from the city ATMs in February 2015.

                     

The two men were sent to 5 years in prison for using fake cards to steal money from the local banks.

Both men were apprehended at the HSBC bank ATM booth in district 1, and after investigation by the police, the two men were said to be part of a large syndicate that operates in different countries.

The men said they work for a Turkish man and were only paid half of the amount stolen.

Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam: The Ho chi minh court sentenced a Ukranian man for credit card fraud, withdrawing more than $17,000 from different ATM machines at 60 different occasions. 

Bilokonov Vitalii, 33 years old of Ukranian national had arrived the country in 2013 with a tourist visa, and had used digital equipment to appropriate, a crime that can let culprit spend up to 20 years of prison term. Vitalii was sentenced to 5 years in prison.

Vitalii had been staying in a hotel on Bui Thi Xuan street. He was arrested on January 3, 2013, when he was withdrawing money from an ATM machine on Vo Van Tan street.

In his hotel room, police later found 110 fake credit cards and 340 million Vietnamese dong ($16,000). He confessed to have bought the ATM cards from someone abroad for $5000.
