Hurray!!!! You have just finished your website design and you can't wait to start putting out articles and receiving feedbacks from people...This is a a good way of engaging people on your website, especially when you have a lot of traffic and you have intelligent replies from different opinions..
Now you are confused on how you can enhance the comments section of your website so as to engage people to write their opinions on your blog/article. I will summarize my best comment enhancing website. You can take a look and take your pick.
Intense debate : This is a cool way of engaging people on your website as people writes comments and you don't have to scrutinize all the comments always. Unlike the traditional ways of writing comments where you have to read all comments to decide either to release them or not. You can set the account up to remove some words and replace it with a better word or the **** symbol. I love Intense debate and its easy to use. It will also allow user to subscribe to their comments so they can receive a mail prompting them that their comments is been replied to, so a user can click such links to see the comment and reply, thus engaging such person to your website.
Also users can vote for a particular opinion of a user, that can also boost the commenter ego. Also a bad opinion will receive a thumbs down and will be removed automatically. This depends on the settings of the website administrator.
Cons
Users must register an account. Personally i hate registering on different websites sometimes....though i have my account for intense debate where i comment on new released Music...#TeamGoodMusic
Pros
Lovely design.
Comment section enhancement.
Set up is easy for admin is easy.
You don't have to login to write comment, unless you clear your browser's cache
Disqus
Disqus is one of the leading comment enhancement website now on the web. If you have been a fan of this blog section, you will notice that we have been using Disqus on the comment section. Websites using the Disqus enhancement too are CNN, MLB,NPR, The Atlantic ; please click here to see the the other website enjoying the Disqus tool.
Disqus sometimes insert contents from other community member related to your blog/article; i.e if you love writing about cars, Disqus will insert some related articles and if your website visitors keeps clicking the ad link....you earn money from Disqus...(Isn't that lovely).
You can import comments to disqus from different sources and export from disqus...(go ahead and read more about Disqus)...i recommend this if you have a lot of traffic on your website. Users can login with either Facebook, twitter, Google plus or have an acct with disqus....sometimes you can go anonymous with Disqus.
Cons
Am not sure their is one now.
Pros:
Earn money while people engage themselves on your website.
Users don't need to have a disqus account to use it on your website
Better interface than intensedebate
Facebook Comment Box
Facebook need no introduction at all in this century, It is the most popular social media on the internet, and engaging people via Facebook comment box is a good idea. Getting Facebook code for the comment box is easy too. Enable the Facebook comment box on your website for users to comment, they don't need any new account, they will only need to be logged into their Facebook to write a comment. If the article is so interesting, some friend of the commenter can join the conversation which means you won a visitor and more comments too.
Its always a good idea to have Facebook comment box and either disqus or intensedebate on your website, but am sure it is up to you to decide if you want 2 comment box on your blog or article.
Thanks for reading, hope this helps in a way or another
