The transgender community in New Orleans is on edge after two transgender women were killed within 48 hours of each other.

Chyna Gibson, one of the transgender women killed was gunned down on Saturday night, while the other victim was found with multiple stab wounds on Monday morning. The police are looking for the killers of this act, but have not linked the two killings to each other.

While speaking to the police, transgender activist, Daphanie Dupree  said;

It's scary because like a lot of the girls in New Orleans, they're walking around like zombies, you know they have this little hidden fear that's inside them to even go anywhere and I hear a lot of them talking about like 'oh, I'm going to carry a gun.

It's very heartbreaking and it's scary because it's too close to home, I mean it could happen to any of us but I'm like -- we hang in the same circles, we hang in the same area just like it happened to them it could happen to me.

Speaking at a media conference, the police Cmdr. Doug Eckert said that the killings of the two women shows the violence against transgender people in the Louisiana city. Doug said;

I mean one is too many, and that's how we feel. If we learn that it's a hate crime, of course, we'll pursue the charges of that.

Police have also put out a search for the owner of a black Chevrolet Camaro in regards to the homicide

The family of Tim Benner was shocked after police showed them of a paint on their teen daughter, Ruby, 16 years old, that reads "Ni**a lover."

Tim Benner, the father of Ruby had thought the family was robbed after he reported a break-in. The furniture of the house was trashed, computers stolen and while he thought he had seen it all, the police called him inside the house three hours into the investigation to let him see his daughter wall that the intruder had painted and written on the wall "Ni*** lover"

Tim Benner who appeared shocked said;

I was pretty shaken up. I sat down on the bed and cried. I'm still in shock. It was a big decision to show [my daughters] this. This has to be brought out and brought forward to let my kids know this is not right.

Tim also believed that the perpetrators of the evil hurt know him or his family, but he understands what might happen to his daugther dating an African-American, and said he was prepared for such racism and hate-crimes.

Speaking about the incident, the boy in the middle of this, Jayden Hannigan, 15, while speaking about the trauma it had caused his girlfriend, Ruby, said;

Some nights, she's crying and I'm just trying to say it's all right. I just think to myself not everyone is racist or not everyone thinks of me different, or her, because she's dating a different colour.

Ruby adding to it said;

It's hard to think about, to imagine who would do this

Jayden's mom, Shannon Hannigan said;

He doesn't want to go to school. He doesn't want to go to hockey. He doesn't want to leave my house.

That's not fair to a kid who should be worried about what he's doing Friday night, what video game he wants to play. That's not Jayden. They've done something to his psyche. They've taken my innocent child and made him into something he's not. They've robbed my family.

As Americans still writhe in the surprise victory of Donald J. Trump in the November election, a mosque in Northern California has just received a letter in the mail asking the Muslim community to leave the United States as there is a new sheriff in town (Donald Trump) and “He’s going to do to you Muslims what Hitler did to the Jews.”

The letter now treated as “hate motivated incident,” by police in San Jose was received in the mail by the Imam at Evergreen Islamic centre.

The full letter released by the  Council on American-Islamic Relations’ Bay Area chapter reads;

To the children of Satan, You Muslims are a vile and filthy people. Your mothers are whores and your fathers are dogs. You are evil. You worship the devil. But your day of reckoning has arrived.

There’s a new sheriff in town -- President Donald Trump. He’s going to cleanse America and make it shine again. And he’s going to start with you Muslims. He’s going to do to you Muslims what Hitler did to the Jews. You Muslims would be wise to pack your bags and get out of Dodge.

This is a great time for patriotic Americans. Love live President Trump and God bless the USA.

The group is now calling for increased police protection for local mosques
