Once ruled the smartphone world with his QWERTY keyboard and secure email system, the Canadian company was overtaken by 2 heavy phone company giant, iPhone and Samsung. But in a strategy to win back its fan base and be the talk in the tech world, Blackberry was reported to be coming out with a new phone that will run on Android devices this fall.

According to the recently leaked image of what is perceived to be the new generation of the Blackberry, the new phone will run on the Google Android operating system, and not the blackberry 0S.

The new Blackberry phone was leaked by @evleaks, showing a sleek, black handset with a slide-down QWERTY keyboard.

The Blackberry passport could load Android apps, but it needs to go through the Amazon app store, which have only a few selections of apps, compare to the Google play store.

Blackberry phones are known for their tough security, especially it email services, which allows CEOs of companies adopt its technologies for use, including the US president, Barack Obama.

But the Android is known as a play house for bugs, as different bugs are being exploited each day on users' phones.

Will the switch be a problem for Blackberry in the context of security, and will this be a bounce back to the market for Blackberry?
