yemen wedding massacre

38 people have been reported dead in Yemen in a wedding celebration when an air strike attacked the tents of the wedding. According to medics at the scene, the town of Wahijah  a village near the red Sea port of Mocha recorded the tragedy as women and children were among those that were killed in the airstrike.

According to the BBC, warplanes targeted the wedding, but the Yemeni officials have said it was a "MIstake". A Saudi-led coalition began an air strike campaign against the Houthi rebel movement in March to defeat the group, but have denied any involvement in the air strike.

According to locals, a man that was affiliated with the Houthi rebel movement was celebrating his wedding, and he was the target of the airstrike. According to the Associated press, a Yemeni official has said that the strike was a "mistake".

Spokesman Brig-Gen Ahmed al-Asiri told Reuters: "There have been no air operations by the coalition in that area for three days. This is totally false news."
