Manila, Philippine: The parliament in Philippine has declared Philippine the 71 years old Rodrigo Duterte to be the new president of the country. The new president is to replace Benigno Aquino, whose second time in office expired.

Duterte victory, according to analyst was his stance on wiping crime away from the country, shaking up the system that had only benefitted only the oligarchy and is rotting with elitist fakery. The former mayor of Davao won in a landslide, taking about 6-million votes ahead of his closest competitor. Duterte is now the 16th president of the Philippine.

Duterte came under fire few months to election after making a rape job of an Australian lady, he apologised after he got backlashes from the media. Duterte will be joined by the ally of the outgoing president, Benigno Aquino. The 53-year old lawyer and social activist, Leni Robredo, has been announced the winner for vice-president. She won the election narrowly over former senator Ferdinand Marcos Jr, 58.

The President and vice-president office in Philippine are elected separately, but both offices will be sworn in on June 30.

After the proclamation of his winning, Duterte starts his office by breaking the norm. He failed to appear at his own proclamation, just 970km away from Davao and a 2hours flight to the capital where the proclamation is taking place.

Local media have reported that his absence was not a surprise as he is well known for breaking rules.

 Salvador Panelo, spokesperson for the newly elected president said that Mr Duterte would rather stay in Davao and start working on his new office cabinet.

During his news briefing last Sunday, Duterte said he won't be following the norm of 8am-5pm work schedule, but he would start work at 1pm and stop at midnight. He also plans to take flight from his own Davao to Manila everyday. Duterte told reporters;

 I don't care about your 8am to 5pm schedule, My home (in Davao) is my comfort zone. It's important that I can sleep and take a shower comfortably.

Ms Robredo came into prominence after the death of her husband, who was until his death a long-serving mayor and respected Cabinet minister. He died in a plane crash in 2012, and Ms Robredo have taken up the challenge of serving the country since his death. 

She came into the election with her 3 daughters and hundred of supporters base. She said she won't be having problems working with Mr Duterte.
