Palestinian Girl

Peace activist Lonny Baskin on Wednesday donated a new bike to the Palestinian 8-year old girl that was bullied by border guard in Israel earlier this month. 8-year old, Anwar Burqan was taken away from her on August 2, and after collecting the bike, the family of Burqan said the bike was damaged that it could no longer be used.

When a diamond merchant, Sami Jolles, who splits his time between the United States and Israel saw the video like we all did, he decided he wanted to help. Burqan experienced triggers an event that happened to his father in Europe in the 1920s. Sami said he was attacked, and his bicycle was thrown into the river.

Jolles believed that giving the girl a new bicycle was a good way to close that circle.

So through the help of a friend of his daughter, Jolles was able to contact peace activist Phil Saunders, so as to get Burqan a new bicycle.

Baskin, Saunders and Palestinian peace activist Ziad Sabateen delivered the bicycle with a good lock to Burqan home on Wednesday in Hebron.

Jolles said that the treatment of Palestinians is shameful, and he is sure that his dad would be proud of him.

Burqan is already using her bike, and will share the bike with nine other siblings, as she did before.

The border patrol that destroyed Burqan said they could not speak Arabic, and would not get their point across, so they resulted to "Bully: Laughing

A video of 2 Israeli soldiers bullying an eight year old girl has surfaced online. The video was recorded by a member of the Israeli human rights group B’tselem in July, but has just been published on Youtube.

The video shows the soldier approaching the young girl, who was riding her bike and playing with her young friends. The soldier then stepped on the bike to allow any movement, while the girl in a terrified voice told the officer, "I swear, it's mine".

The officer did not let go, and instead make the young girl cry and go back home.

The officer then took the girl's bike and threw it into a nearby bush, an act a lot of online users have condemned and said the soldier is a coward, and probably does not have a conscience to have brought tears to a young girl in that way.

There has been bout of tension ever since Israeli forces introduced restrictions on the entry of Palestinian worshippers into the al-Aqsa Mosque compound in East Jerusalem al-Quds in August 2015.
