ISIS Refugees Tied Up A Suspected Terrorist And Handed Him Over To German Police

Jaber Albakr, a 22-year-old refugee in Germany and also planning an attack on German soil was apprehended by the police on Monday in the eastern city of Leipzig, after another Syrian refugee tricked him into his apartment with help from other refugees and handed him to the police.

Albakr has been on the run after he left his apartment in Chemnitz, near the Czech border, after the police invaded it. After searching through his apartment, authorities found a cache of explosives and other bomb making materials.

                         

He has been on the run since Saturday, has he became the subject of a manhunt.

When he was captured, he was taken to Dresden, the capital of Saxony state, and charged with being an accomplice in preparations for a major act of violence.

According to Joerg Michaelis, president of the Saxony state crime office, in a news conference;

  The actions of the suspect point towards an IS connection.We're all relieved that he's been caught now.

How Albakr Was Arrested

According to Michaelis, Jaber Albakr approached another Syrian refugee at the Leipzig train station around 1 a.m. and asked if he could stay at his place, but the refugee recognised him because of his police images that had circulated around in the German media over the weekend.

When he was taken in the apartment of the other refugee, he was tied up, his photograph taken, and taken to a police station for the police authorities to identify him.

What Was Found Inside His Home

German news media received a tip about Jaber Albakr from foreign intelligence agencies that picked up an internet chatter between him and others discussing on how to make bombs.
